Family owned and operated business offering Hydromulching (also known as Hydroseeding) services.
Based in the Northern Rivers of NSW, Australia.
Specialises in erosion management and revegetation.
Ideal for civil earth works, road works for stabilising batters, land slips, farms, lawns and more!
Applying seed to areas too steep for machinery with a 60m hose and a cannon that will spray up to 30m.
Modern specialised equipment.
Wide range of grass seed, natives, top soil, Hydromulch products to choose from - custom made for each site.
Professional and reliable operators.
Fully safety compliant and fully insured for all levels of industry.
Our Services
Erosion Control on Roadwork sites, Landslips and farms.
Highly effective for preventing and mitigating landslips (or landslides), erosion control on road work sites, farms or anywhere it’s needed!
Regeneration of flood damage areas.
Able to get too hard to reach areas with a 60m hose and cannon that will spray up to 30m.
CUSTOM MADE SEED AND WOOD FIBRE MIXTURES
Wide variety of seed mixers - almost anything including natives!
Allows you to mix a specific seed/s variety (suited for local climate and soil conditions), fertilizer, mulch, tackifiers, soil stabilisers, top soil, water etc!
All products are organic and Australian Made.
Cheaper and easier to apply than turf.
Faster establishment - Hydromulch provides a quicker, more even distribution of grass seed compared to tradition turf.
Customisation to get your perfect lawn!
Environmentally friendly & Healthier soil - using less water, energy for growing, harvesting and transporting than turf. As the mulch breaks down, it adds organic matter to the soil, improving it’s structure and moisture retention = more sustainable lawn.

WHAT IS HYDROMUCLHING?
What are Hydromulchers?
Versatile machines used to spray a variety of materials. These are custom made to meet specific requirements for landscaping, erosion control and roadworks.
What can Hydromulchers spray?
Hydroseed (Grass Seed Mixtures)
Most commonly used to spray a mixture of grass seed, water and other ingredients for establishing lawns, re-vegetating disturbed lands or restoring habitats. The seed mixture is often customized based on the climate, soil and type of vegetation desired for the area.
Hydromulch
We apply a slurry made of mulch (wood fiber or paper mulch), water, and sometimes tackifiers (to help the mulch adhere to the soil). The mulch helps retain moisture, protect seeds from erosion, and provide a protective layer to the soil while seeds germinate.
Fertilizers
We spray liquid fertilizers within the mulch mix to enhance soil nutrients and support better seed germination, plant growth and healthy root development.
Tackifiers (Binding Agents)
Often added to the slurry mixture to help bind the mulch to the soil, ensuring it doesn’t wash away easily (especially in areas prone to heavy rainfall or strong winds).
Erosion Control Blankets
Compost or Organic Matter
Soil Amendments
Water
Primary component in the slurry, ensuring that the mulch and seeds are properly hydrated.
How is it sprayed?
The Hydromulch mix is loaded into the Hydromulcher machine which is mounted on the back of a truck or trailer.
The machine uses a high-pressure hose to spray the mixture evenly onto the prepared soil. This can be done on a variety of surfaces i.e. bare soil, slopes, or disturbed areas.
The mulch fibers than settle onto the soil, forming a thin, protective layer that helps; reduce erosion, lock in moisture and prevent seeds from being washed away (<200mm rain event).
The seeds in the Hydromulch slurry are activated by the moisture in the mixture. As the slurry dries, the seeds begin to germinate, aided by the nutrients from the mulch and any added fertilizers.
As the plants/grass grow, their roots establish a network within the soil, further anchoring the soil in place and preventing future erosion.
Over time, the organic mulch breaks down naturally, enriching the soil with organic matter and improving it’s structure.
Long term erosion control is achieved as the plants mature, they continue to stabilize the soil with their root systems, providing long term erosion control.
How long does it take to grow?
Germination occurs within 5-10 days (can vary depending on seed type, climate, and soil moisture i.e., in cooler climates or winter it may take longer).
Initial growth (2 to 4 weeks).
Full vegetation - (well established lawn or ground cover) (6 to 8 weeks). By this stage the grass or plants should develop a healthy root system).
Soil stabilization and long-term growth (full stabilization can take several months to a year).
Why would you use Hydromulch?
Cost Effective
Can be more affordable than turf, especially for larger areas. It doesn’t require the same labour intensive installation or expensive materials as laying turf.
Better for Erosion Control
The mulch in the mix helps to protect seeds from wind and water erosion (i.e. turf can take longer to establish and may not have as much immediate protective coverage).
Erosion control especially important on slopes where heavy rain can quickly lead to erosion.
The mulch component absorbs water and slows down its impact on the soil.
Customisation
It allows you to mix specific seed types suited for the local climate and soil conditions (other pre-grown turf generally comes as a set package).
Roadwork and Landslip Sites
Especially in those that involve cutting, grading or disturbing soil as it holds the soil together preventing run off and erosion.
Reduced dust and Airborne Particles
Dust control is common issue during road construction. Hydromulch helps by keeping the soil damp and compacted, which makes for a safer site for workers and nearby residents.
Environmental Benefits
Environmentally friendly, often made from recycled materials i.e. wood fibre, paper, or other organic products. Helps improve the quality of soil by adding organic matter as it breaks down. This reduces the overall environmental impact of for i.e. road construction projects.
Promotes Quick Vegetation Growth
The mixture contains grass seed or other vegetation seeds that will begin to grow and establish roots. This helps to rapidly establish vegetation.
Less Maintenance During Establishment
It generally requires less maintenance than turf in the early stages, even though both need water, Hydromulch has a better chance of spreading evenly and requires fewer manual interventions.
Uniform Coverage and Better for Hard-to-Reach Areas
Hydromulch ensures an even application of seeds, minimizes the potential of bare spots or uneven growth. It is ideal for difficult to access areas like hills, steep inclines, or large lawns where netting or turfs would be too heavy or challenging to install. Netting (Erosion control mats/blankets) don’t promote the growth of vegetation directly, it only protects the soil and provides support. This means it can take longer for plants to grow through and fully establish (leaving the soil vulnerable).
Water conservation
Mulch retains moisture in the soil which can reduce the amount of water needed during the germination phase.
